Ortho-Bionomy®: A Gentle Technique Gives Comfort and Lasting Relief
By Elizabeth Mixon Summers, Ortho-Bionomy® Practitioner in Portland, Oregon
Assisting people out of pain —without creating pain —is one of many striking distinctions to Ortho-Bionomy®. Ortho-Bionomy ® and Cranial Sacral Therapy are gentle, indirect approaches that treat the body in a comprehensive way. Both are rooted in Osteopathy where the structure governs the function of the body, and the fluids are paramount to optimal health. Ortho-Bionomy works with the self-corrective reflexes and proprioceptors, providing change via the nervous system. Because the body's own intelligence makes choice in the change, the structural integrity is more congruent and results are longer lasting.
The founder of Ortho-Bionomy®, Dr. Arthur Lincoln Pauls, re-designed positional release in a fashion that is much gentler, quicker and more effective in helping people with "Right Relationship"—in their bodies and in their lives.
In my Ortho-Bionomy® practice in Portland, Oregon, I've made it my focus to empower clients by educating them so they may gain insight into their own body processes. With an understanding of how the body functions, and how it self corrects, one can better facilitate their own healing process. I work with Scoliosis, Postural Alignment, injuries and more.
After each session, I offer self care to provide my clients with tools to continue their re-education in their body and to help release themselves from pain. I bring 15 years of mental health training as well and an extensive background in Dance, Tai Chi, Qigong, and meditation to my work.
